Donation Return & Refund Policy
Your trust means everything to us. We are committed to transparency, accountability and responsible use of every contribution.
Last Updated: 11 September 2026
Overview
Jeevan Care Home Foundation (JCHF) values the trust placed in us by every donor. Donations support our charitable programmes and are handled with care and accountability. This Return Policy explains when a donation may be considered for refund and the procedure to follow in case of an incorrect, duplicate, failed or disputed transaction.
1. Donations Are Generally Non-Refundable
Donations are voluntary contributions made to support JCHF’s charitable and social-development activities. Once successfully received, a donation is generally treated as final and non-refundable, particularly where the funds have already been allocated, committed or utilised. Donors are requested to verify the amount, selected cause and payment details before completing payment.
2. Refund Request Time Limit
A refund request must be submitted within 3 days from the date of the donation transaction. Requests received after this period will ordinarily not be considered, except where JCHF determines that exceptional circumstances justify further review. Submission of a request does not automatically guarantee approval.
3. When a Refund May Be Considered
A refund may be considered where the same donation was charged more than once, an incorrect amount was entered by mistake, an identifiable technical or payment-processing error occurred, or an unauthorised or genuinely disputed transaction requires investigation. Each request is reviewed on its own facts.
4. Change of Mind
A donation will ordinarily not be refunded merely because the donor changes their mind after voluntarily and successfully completing the transaction. Once funds have been allocated, committed or used for charitable purposes, reversal may no longer be possible.
5. Wrong Programme Selection
If a donor accidentally selects the wrong JCHF programme or cause, the donor should contact JCHF within 3 days. Where reasonably possible and before the funds have been allocated, JCHF may consider changing the internal designation of the donation to another eligible programme rather than refunding it.
6. Duplicate Donations
If the same donation has accidentally been charged more than once, please notify JCHF within 3 days and provide details of the duplicate transactions. After verification, an eligible duplicate transaction may be refunded.
7. Failed or Pending Transactions
If a payment shows as failed or pending but the amount has been debited, please allow the bank or payment gateway’s normal reconciliation process to complete. Many unsuccessful transactions are automatically reversed. If the amount is not reversed within the applicable banking period, contact JCHF with the transaction details.
8. How to Request a Refund
Email JCHF at jeevancarehome@gmail.com within 3 days of the donation. Use the subject “Refund Request – Donation Transaction”. Please include the donor’s name, email address, donation amount, transaction date, Razorpay/payment reference ID, reason for the request and any relevant screenshot or payment confirmation.
9. Verification & Processing
Before approving a refund, JCHF may verify the donor’s identity, original transaction, payment and settlement status, payment-gateway reference, reason for the request, whether funds have already been allocated or used, and any supporting documents supplied. Approved refunds are normally attempted through the original payment method wherever technically possible.
10. Payment Gateway & Transaction Charges
Where banking, payment-gateway or other transaction charges have already been deducted and cannot be recovered from the relevant service provider, those charges may not form part of the refundable amount. Any approved refund is subject to the actual transaction circumstances and applicable payment-processing conditions.
11. 80G Receipt and Refunded Donations
Where an 80G receipt or donation acknowledgement has already been issued for a donation that is subsequently refunded, the relevant receipt may be treated as cancelled or invalid to the extent of the refunded amount. A donor should not claim a tax benefit for an amount that has been refunded.
12. In-Kind Donations
Goods, materials or other non-monetary contributions are generally not returnable once accepted, distributed, consumed, allocated or used for a charitable purpose. Supporters should confirm JCHF’s current programme requirements before purchasing, sending or delivering any in-kind contribution.
13. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
If you believe a transaction has been processed incorrectly, please contact JCHF before initiating a formal chargeback or banking dispute wherever possible. If a dispute is raised, JCHF may provide relevant transaction records, payment references and donation documentation to Razorpay, the bank or other payment service provider.
14. Decision on Refund Requests
All refund requests are reviewed reasonably and in good faith. JCHF may approve, partially approve or decline a request after considering the transaction records, use or allocation of the donated funds, supporting evidence and any indications of misuse, fraud or an improper payment dispute.
15. Policy Updates
Jeevan Care Home Foundation may update this Return Policy from time to time to reflect changes in payment methods, Razorpay requirements, operational practices or applicable laws and regulations. The latest version published on our website will apply from the date stated on the policy.
Secure & Transparent
Online contributions may be processed through Razorpay or another authorised payment service provider and are used responsibly for JCHF programmes.
